Turn off cruise-control. Part 1

Turn off cruise-control. Part 1

November 12, 2022 Service Summary 0

I’ve been praying out the time you live in — why you live in this time and what it is you are to bring to the table at this time.

  • Not one of us is here to “cruise it” till we get to Heaven.
  • I’m not taking every day as it comes; I’m PREPARING for every day as it comes. I’m engaged in prayer by faith for that which I desire to be presented to me!
  • I’m making paths straight in my life.
  • When the spirit of man receives the needed information from the Creator of the man, then things begin to change.
  • There is no man who has the wisdom you need to fix your soul enough to help you go where God has destined you to be. It lies within the wisdom of God, which has been placed within your heart.

(Parable:) A man’s favorite donkey falls into a deep precipice. He can’t pull it out no matter how hard he tries. He therefore decides to bury the donkey alive.

Soil is poured on the donkey from above, and the donkey feels the load, shakes it off, and steps on it. More soil is poured on the donkey. The donkey shakes it off and steps on it.

While the donkey continues to shake the soil off, he creates steps to stand on.

The more the load was poured, the higher the donkey rose — and by noon, he was grazing in the field beside the hole.

  • It’s not time to be buried alive — it’s time to create steps with the dirt that is being poured on your life on a daily basis from forces that are at work to hurt you.
  • “I’m coming out of this hole once and for all in the mighty Name of Jesus!”

1 Thessalonians 5:1-6 AMPC

1 But as to the suitable times and the precise seasons and dates, brethren, you have no necessity for anything being written to you.

2 For you yourselves know perfectly well that the day of the [return of the] Lord will come [as unexpectedly and suddenly] as a thief in the night.

3 When people are saying, All is well and secure, and, There is peace and safety, then in a moment unforeseen destruction (ruin and death) will come upon them as suddenly as labor pains come upon a woman with child; and they shall by no means escape, for there will be no escape.

4 But you are not in [given up to the power of] darkness, brethren, for that day to overtake you by surprise like a thief.

5  For you are all sons of light and sons of the day; we do not belong either to the night or to darkness.

6 Accordingly then, let us not sleep, as the rest do, but let us keep wide awake (alert, watchful, cautious, and on our guard) and let us be sober (calm, collected, and circumspect).

  • These are scriptures I’m meditating on. I’m looking at things based upon what scripture wants to reveal to me.
  • It’s not a premeditated positioning — it’s presenting myself to the Lord by the Spirit of the Lord so He can show me things that I possibly have not seen before or that I might be blindsided to.
  • I’ve been asking the Lord for months, Do I have blind spots, Lord? Are there things in my life I’ve closed my eyes and ears to? Have I become so boxed that I’m not listening to direction You’re wanting to give me?
  • At times the Lord will reveal to me that I closed my ears to something by preference. I couldn’t hear because of my likes and dislikes.
  • In this day we’re moving into, it’s going to take a fortified spirit. Not a heart that is hard, but a heart that is stout, fixed, and trusting in the Lord.
  • In the world, lies are abounding, but that doesn’t mean to say you have to be influenced by those lies, because you carry the Spirit of Truth Himself.
  • Any stretch of the truth is wrong. We must come back to how it is.
  • We’ve lost the sense of appreciation for truth — how it really is.

1 Thessalonians 5:4-11 AMPC

4 But you are not in [given up to the power of] darkness, brethren, for that day to overtake you by surprise like a thief.

5  For you are all sons of light and sons of the day; we do not belong either to the night or to darkness.

6 Accordingly then, let us not sleep, as the rest do, but let us keep wide awake (alert, watchful, cautious, and on our guard) and let us be sober (calm, collected, and circumspect).

7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who are drunk, get drunk at night.

8 But we belong to the day; therefore, let us be sober and put on the breastplate (corslet) of faith and love and for a helmet the hope of salvation.

9 For God has not appointed us to [incur His] wrath [He did not select us to condemn us], but [that we might] obtain [His] salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah)

10 Who died for us so that whether we are still alive or are dead [at Christ’s appearing], we might live together with Him and share His life.

11 Therefore encourage (admonish, exhort) one another and edify (strengthen and build up) one another, just as you are doing.

  • We are to encourage one another.
  • I have found that lying is one of the most discouraging things you could ever do to a relationship — because it puts trust in the back seat.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-11 TPT

1 Now, beloved brothers and sisters, concerning the question of God’s precise times and specific seasons, you don’t need me to write anything to you.

2  For you already know quite well that the day of the Lord will come unexpectedly and as a complete surprise.

3 For while some are saying, “Finally we have peace and security,” sudden destruction will arrive at their doorstep, like labor pains seizing a pregnant woman—and with no chance of escape1

4 But you, beloved brothers and sisters, are not living in the dark, allowing that day to creep up on you like a thief coming to steal.

5 For you are all children of the light and children of the day. We don’t belong to the night nor to darkness.

6 This is why we must not fall asleep, as the rest do, but keep wide awake and clearheaded.

7  For those who are asleep sleep the night away, and drunkards get drunk at night.

8  But since we belong to the day, we must stay alert and clearheaded by placing the breastplate of faith and love over our hearts, and a helmet of the hope of salvation over our thoughts.

9 For God has not destined us to experience wrath but to possess salvation through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One.

10  He gave his life for us so that we may share in resurrection life in union with him—whether we’re awake or asleep.

11 Because of this, encourage the hearts of your fellow believers and support one another, just as you have already been doing.

Ephesians 5:15-18 TPT

15 So be very careful how you live, not being like those with no understanding, but live honorably with true wisdom, for we are living in evil times.

16 Take full advantage of every day as you spend your life for his purposes.

17 And don’t live foolishly for then you will have discernment to fully understand God’s will.

18  And don’t get drunk with wine, which is rebellion; instead be filled with the fullness of the Holy Spirit.

  • We are living in a kairos moment, and that kairos moment didn’t stop on New Year’s Eve.
  • We’re into a new era of opportunity.
  • Not all opportunities are your opportunity. But there is an opportunity within this season that you are to grab and lay hold of.
  • What is it that God has planned for you that is right up ahead for you?
  • God is interested in taking you all the way to your destiny. You are loaded on the inside with every part that you need.
  • But you don’t come assembled! “Some assembly required.” The fivefold minister works at the nuts and bolts on the inside of you and begin to put pieces together that belong together.
  • On the canvas of your heart, the paintbrush of the minister’s tongue paints a picture that becomes clear to you. You had that all the time. You just needed the right people in your life to help you reveal it.
